Ryan, who takes over on Jan. 1, 2025, will succeed longtime director Ann Philbin, who is retiring in November after leading the museum for 25 years.
Ryan comes to the Hammer from the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania, where she has been the Daniel W. Dietrich, II Director since 2020.
