Reframing Reality: The Digital Worlds of Peiyan Xu Reframing Reality: The Digital Worlds of Peiyan Xu

What does it mean to see in the age of constant connectivity?
London-based artist Peiyan Xu builds immersive environments that explore how technology shapes human perception — from air-quality data transformed into glowing landscapes, to virtual realms that mirror our shifting relationship with information.

His works Smog (2025) and Primordial Realm (2025) move between research, design, and imagination, inviting us to question what’s real, what’s constructed, and how our senses are evolving in a world mediated by screens.

🔹 3D Design
🔹 Moving Image
🔹 Immersive Installations
🔹 Digital Worldbuilding

A poetic step into a future where data becomes space — and perception becomes the story.

Where Stones Float: Yasuaki Onishi’s Copper Landsc Where Stones Float: Yasuaki Onishi’s Copper Landscapes
Suspended in midair, thousands of copper molds shimmer like a floating terrain. In Stone on Boundary, Japanese artist Yasuaki Onishi bridges Osaka and Utah through 5,000 copper sheets cast from river stones, creating a monumental, immersive landscape at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts.

The delicate forms, inspired by surrounding mountain ranges, hover within a vast wire grid, inviting viewers to rethink material, place, and perception. 🌿✨

✨Encountering Mire Lee in Los Angeles & London✨ ✨Encountering Mire Lee in Los Angeles & London✨

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of joining the preview of Mire Lee’s solo exhibition Faces at Sprüth Magers Los Angeles, guided by the artist herself. Her sculptural forms—raw, visceral, and magnetic—draw the viewer into a world where fragility and intensity coexist.

Just a week before, I encountered her works in London, including pieces first shown at Tate Modern. Experiencing both contexts in such a short span revealed the breadth of her language: monumental in London, intimate in Los Angeles.
Mire Lee represents a new generation of Asian voices in global contemporary art—fearless, experimental, and deeply affecting. Her trajectory is one I recognize as boundless.

📚 New Book Available: Ink Dreams ✨ Ink Dreams: Se 📚 New Book Available: Ink Dreams ✨
Ink Dreams: Selections from the Fondation INK Collection explores the ongoing legacy of the East Asian ink tradition within the context of contemporary art. Published in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), this exquisitely designed volume examines how over 50 visionary artists are reimagining ink as a medium beyond its historical conventions.

Featuring influential names such as Xu Bing, Lin Tianmiao, Lee Ufan, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and many more, Ink Dreams presents works from artists across China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Europe, and the United States. Instead of being defined by traditional tools — ink, brush, paper, silk — the book emphasizes a spirit of innovation that transcends geography and medium, capturing how contemporary ink art speaks to a global audience.

This publication highlights one of the most significant collections of contemporary ink art in the world, offering a deep reevaluation of what defines ink practice today and how artists extend an ancient tradition into a rapidly globalizing art world.
